How The World Works
Central Idea:People's actions impact our worlds drinkable water supply.
Water Consumption ReflectionI found out that some countries use a lot of gallons of water each day like Australia who uses 130.237 gallons each day,and some countries only use a little bit of water like Mozambique who uses 1.05669 gallons a day.I think that countries have differences in the amount of water usage because, not all of the countries have the same amount of water. Some countries have a lot some countries barely have any water. |
Backyard Habitat Water Test Reflection
We went to the backyard habitat to check if the water was safe to drink. My group tested to see if there was copper in the water.Copper can be either a type of chemical or a type of soft metal. The normal outcome for copper is below 0.03 ppm,or parts per million. If the water is below 0.03 ppm it tells us that the water is drinkable. If the water is 1.0 ppm it tells us that the water will taste bitter.I don't think that the back yard habitat water is not safe to drink because the bacteria test was positive which means that the water in the backyard habitat has bacteria.I wouldn't drink the water because it has 2 ppm dissolved oxygen and anything under 3 ppm dissolved oxygen is deadly. We contribute positively or negatively to the water quality.
SOAR Reflection
What I learned
What I learned during the Soar class is that sometimes tap water, inflow water, and outflow water can have the same amount of ph,phosphate, nitrate and ammonia, but sometimes they can have different amounts.I also learned that water can mess up testing for either ammonia, nitrate,ph or phosphate.
My favorite part and why?
My favorite part about the Safari park was the part when we got to go on the trail. It was my favortie part because we got to learn about animals and what kind of animals are endanered. For example I learned that giraffes and white rhinos are endangered right now.
